I am trying to join or form a small critique group. I write creative-non-fiction as well as fiction and have previously participated in critique groups. If anyone is interested, please contact me at slkshapiro@yahoo.com Thanks

My small novel writing critique group is seeking new members. We tend to meet once monthly at 7 or 7:30 PST  on Tuesdays so easiest for West Coast writers unless you stay up late.

Generally we review 2 presentations each time, allocating about an hour to each.

It's very collegial. We are located in Bay Area but lately have been meeting on ZOOM and we could switch to ZOOM only to accomodate you if need be.

I'd be delighted to discuss with anyone who has an interest.

My email is drcpeyser@gmail.com or to be super sure, you can also send to drpeyser@hushmail.com

    Happy Writing!

    Carol

It's great to be connecting with writers through OCWW.  Thank you for the warm welcome.

I'd be interested in connecting with a CG that focuses on Picture Books if anyone is interested.

    Hello all,

Attached please find the fabulous openings to stories written by work shop participants in the Karen Bender workshop on February 16.

The suggestion here would be for us to discuss which type of beginning we think each of these are, and also what we see as the horizontal and vertical questions related to them. Of course, that can be a springboard for other discussions!

I numbered entries for easy reference.

I'm not sure how this works, but I liked the first opening example.

I'm looking for a critique partner, adult fiction.

Hello there, I just attended my first OCWW event, a reading at Avli in Winnetka, and I’d love to get involved with a critique group. I write short fiction, primarily, but I’m open to reading and critiquing longer forms. Please let me know if you have room or would like to start a group!

Hello. I am interested in a critique group for Thrillers and Adventure novels. Does anyone have a group they are looking for a new member?

    Thanks.

    Calling all OCWW published authors

What better way to enjoy our community and support each other’s work than to start our own in-person book club, focusing on our homegrown authors?

I hope you all agree. My first step in creating what I’d love to see as a regularly scheduled in-person book club is to ask published authors to submit their title(s) for consideration for the first book club read, which I will host in the Evanston/Skokie area (locations can revolve thereafter, or I’d be happy to continue hosting).

Interested authors, please fill out the google form at the attached link:

    https://forms.gle/GRP4Z7vZF3mNDMFm9

Included are date choices for you, as well as a place for you to write in a synopsis of your book. Interested authors, please submit the form no later than Thursday, June 29.

However many synopses I receive will then be presented to the larger group.

Members interested in participating in the club in person will be asked to choose a novel via a second form. The most commonly selected book will then be our first group read!

Published authors, please note on the linked form you are to select only ONE day and time. Also, please be sure to type in your synopsis where indicated.

You may direct any questions to me at eorbkauf@gmail.com.

Thanks to all in advance, and I hope I may start an event that will carry on for years to come!
