The book we're pumping is…Promising Young Man
Join Pump Up the Volume, OCWW’s member book club, for its first June in-person book discussion featuring member Patricia Stankovic's New Adult novel, Promising Young Man.
A modern-day Catcher in the Rye sharing all its humor and heart, this book nearly vibrates with the animated and poignant voice of protagonist Oscar Danielsson, a troubled eighteen-year-old charmer struggling to come of age despite all of the expectations of his family, friends… and himself.
We’ll have tons to chew on in this novel that’s part inter-generational saga, part road trip, part commentary on the current climate of the nation’s mental health crisis facing our youth, and 100 percent unforgettable.
