You don't need to be writing crime fiction to benefit from the expertise of a police officer. Chicago Police Officer Randy Nichols can help answer questions about police procedure for whatever police contact you might have in your manuscript. If you have characters who drive drunk, suffer from mental illness, rage, shoplift or step outside the law, this is the time to find out what the police might or might not do. Randy will take questions in advance to tailor the presentation to OCWW needs. In addition to being a police officer, he is also a black belt in Arnis, so he can also answer questions about fighting, including drunk/untrained fighting, police tactics, and trained fighting. He will accept manuscript sections to read for police or combat accuracy.
Bio: Randy Nichols has been a Chicago Police Officer since 1995. In that time, he has worked in patrol as well as other support units. In 2016, he was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to a District to supervisor officers. He has trained in Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) to learn how to handle situations that involve people who have some sort of psychological issue.
Randy Nichols has trained in various martial arts systems for over 15 years and has achieved black belts in three different systems, Arnis, Kombatan, and Force Necessary / Scientific Fighting Congress which is a mixture of martial arts, police, and military training.
Randy will accept manuscripts for critique of police procedure accuracy and fight scenes only.
